Summer Oblate Residential Retreat 31st July - 3rd August 2026

This year the Summer Oblate Residential Retreat was preached by the Very Reverend Ann Catherine Swailes OP, Prioress of the Dominican Convent in Cambridge.
Sr. Ann's title was ‘Learn to love and leave all other: some Medieval (-ish) musings on the Great Commandment’.

Homily for Sunday 15A, 12 July 2026: Isaiah 55:10-11; Matthew 13:1-23

“As the rain and snow come down from heaven …and water the earth … so shall my word be that goes forth from my mouth. It shall not return to me empty.”

Our brief first reading today, from Isaiah Chapter 55, is familiar as part of a longer passage we have in the Easter Vigil.
