Coronavirus precautions at Pluscarden (X)

Thanks be to God, from Palm Sunday, 28 March 2021, worshippers from outside the community will again be able to attend Mass at Pluscarden.

The Sunday 8 o'clock Mass (said in English), suspended over the latest lock down, will resume.

BUT please note that quite stringent legal restrictions remain, at least for the time being, in place.

The requirement for all to maintain social distancing severely limits the numbers able to fit into our Church at any given time.

Anyone wishing to attend a liturgy at Pluscarden MUST therefore book their place in advance, ideally via our web site booking form, here. Before coming, they MUST have received a reply, confirming that a place will be available.

As before, Mass-goers will be asked to sanitise their hands on entry, to occupy a seat as indicated, to wear a face mask, to maintain social distance, to refrain from singing, and not to congregate in a tight group outside the Church after the Mass. All are also asked to leave contact details when booking.

In the current regime, outside times of Mass, the Pluscarden Abbey Church will remain closed to Visitors. Our services of the Divine Office will also remain closed to the public. Our guest houses will remain closed.

Conventual Mass is sung at 9.00 a.m. on week days, and 10.00 a.m. on Sunday and Solemnities.

The daily Calendar here gives special service times during Holy Week and Easter Week.

The main Holy Week liturgies will be subject to certain restrictions, proper to the Covid-19 environment, as imposed by the Holy See or by our own Bishops.

There are no immediate plans to suspend the live-streaming of our services, since this is appreciated by many who are not able to be present in person.
