The Relics of St. Thérèse at Pluscarden - Weds 11 Sept

Teresa-de-Lisieux.jpg

The Relics of St. Thérèse will be at Pluscarden on Wednesday 11 September 2019.

Anyone is welcome to visit our Church at any time between 11.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. to pray in the presence of the Relics.

3 special liturgies however are planned

1) At about 11.00 a.m. the Relics, arriving from Aberdeen Cathedral, will be solemnly welcomed and carried into our Transepts. Numbers of school children are expected for that. The proposed liturgy then will include some prayers and songs, a reading, a brief talk, a blessing of flower petals and the chance for all to venerate the Relics.

After that the Relics will be carried in to the main part of our Church and placed on the central Altar.

2) At 2.40 p.m., after the monastic Office of None, there will be a brief service. It will include some Chant, a brief address, and veneration of the Relics by the monastic community and all others present.

3) At 4.45 there will be a brief “farewell” liturgy, as the Relics are again taken up and placed in the vehicle for their onward journey to Inverness.

Otherwise all monastic Offices will be as normal for a weekday timetable, with the conventual Mass at 9.00, and Vespers at 5.30.
